Here we try to resolve some common issues when installing XWW2 for BF2
1. Download the XWW2 installer and make sure you have a complete download. The size of the file should be
1,242,425,658 bytes. If the filesize differs your download is likely to be corrupt or infected.
2. After launching the installer and sigining the agreement you'll be presented with the question for an installer pth.
DO NOT CHANGE IT ! It should point to the folder where your BF2.EXE file is found , not into the \mods folder or so. The installer will do that automagically. ( in reality it was TuuT who instructed it to do so
)
3. Continue and let the installer do its magic. Unfortunately it is not able to create a shortcut to launch XWW2 directly ( contrary to what is read in the readme ) you need to create that yourself when the installer has finished. The easiest way to do that is to copy an existing shortcut to BF2 and change it. Rightclick the copied shortcut and find the 'Target' line. Add
+modPath mods/xww2 at the end of the target line, outside the quotes.
We have provided a nice icon in the XWW2 mod folder so that you can distinguish the new shortcut from others you might have.
And now doubleclick the file and start the game ! Have fun and play fair !
